The First Cause Argument

“There is no reason why the world could not have come into being without a cause; nor, on the other hand, is there any reason why it should not have always existed... The idea that things must have a beginning is really due to the poverty of our imagination. Therefore, perhaps, I need not waste any more time upon the argument about the First Cause.”

~ Bertrand Russell, “Why I Am Not a Christian”

I will follow Mr. Russell’s lead and forgo further discussion on this argument; however, I will share this funny quote from physicist Michio Kaku that astutely reflects both The First Cause Argument and Pandeism: “In the beginning God said, the four-dimensional divergence of an antisymmetric, second rank tensor equals zero, and there was light, and it was good.”
